You guessed it -- not a 356 tool but for early 911 transmission axle joints. Jon Bunin can tell you exactly how this tool is used. Note the model use/trans types are slightly different.

Thanks for the correction, Jon. I got the bit of misinformation out the EBS's currently advertised tool book. I should have merely opened a 911 workshop manual to find the correct information. Of course, your photo of the actual tools was the best.
