Ok, I’ve skinned my knuckles for the last time!

If your car has Euro heat exchangers like mine, you know that access for removing your valve covers is not very good. Has anyone in this situation come up with a technique that works?

Let your mechanic do it.

Stephen,

I use a brake adjusting spoon down through the bale and prise against the cover.

Or, bend a large short screwdriver approx. 45°.

I use the claw of a hammer or something long and thin.
