Red pre-A tool bag real or fake?

#1 Post by Ned Gorski »

i recently stumbled across a "VW stash of tools" bought a few early original pre a tools including a couple early brown hazet 450 wrenches but mostly A and late Pre a stuff . i passed on the red bag because i thought it was a reproduction and it was the only item he had priced like a Porsche tool kit piece. not to mention it looked to be in to good of shape to be original just a little dirty. I also i know nothing about the early red bags .. well I've lost some sleep over it . wondering if it was real or fake.

soooo how do you the difference difference between real and fake red bags? i have seen some really obvious reproduction bags before. . i've never seen an original red bag. this bag felt very light compared to the reproduction bags i've seen
Regards Ned

I’m not an expert, but it looks to be about 2 or 3 years old.
