I was introduced to mechanical work by my immigrant grandfather. When he bought new furnace or washer he disassembled and saved the electric motor nuts and bolts and anything else that might be useful. Back in the day i stripped and discarded a few old Porsche's. Luckily I saved two that i always wanted to redo, my wife's 52 Coupe and a 56 Speedster that I purchased without an interior or motor out of a Pano ad from 1974.
After raising kids and life going on both are in restoration.
I have a bunch of old nuts and bolts. I wasn't insightful enough to keep them separated or identified. I understand they can be cleaned up and replated/anodized for reuse. I could use some help as to how to identify which are worth redoing and how to do it.
As always i appreciate any help.
Thanks
Mark

Re: nuts & Bolts
Take a look at Paul Christensen's article in the current Registry magazine; he covers clean-up, plating, sorting, etc. for h/w
