I don't have an isolator switch on the battery.
No heat issues at the battery cable or other terminals.
The starter to transmission is a clean metal to metal contact.
I'm going to install a new battery cable and will report back on the results.

Further to my previous post.
I have measured the resistance of the starter motor +ve cable at 0.015 ohms. Way too high!
So interested to see how a new cable will perform.

Before removing the existing cable from the body, you could jumper around from front to back, the new candidate welding cable with its associated termination(s).
There are unique rubber grommets in several places. You might want to obtain them before you make the permanent cable swap.
