Dressing up plain seat belt latch

#1 Post by David Campbell »

I have been searching for the right metal decal to dress up my plain chrome seat belt latches. I found a set I really like. From outside the car, it looks like the chrome latch was engraved with the logo.

I have no affiliation with this vendor and am merely passing it along as resource.

David, Thanks for the link to the MOD DIY site, i ordered a few to see how they will work, I have anew set of 3 point belts ready to install so if they look as good as your photos then they will be added. Also have a couple of other uses for the logo stickers. Guessing they are flying under the usual trademark laws, I looked but couldn't find a location, maybe China?

Hi David,
Thanks for the info and what size did you get for the seat belt latch, they offer small or large.

You could probably have a local trophy shop use that as an original to actually engrave your buckle. It's not expensive. A friend of mine had his turn signal bezels engraved at a trophy shop, it's easy for them.

Nice indeed. I often use hood emblems on the buckle. Not on concourse cars, but drivers. ..........................Jim.

Photos looks really nice. I ordered some for possible use on plain seat belt buckles, etc. About a year or so ago I came across web add for a Porsche front bonnet emblem. It was metal and the pictures looked great. As I recall, the cost was less that $15, plus shipping from China. I bought one for a disabled friend of mine who was living in Okinawa and using one of those electric disability vehicles. The idea was to stick it on the cart for an upgrade. The emblem arrived and I was totally blown away by its quality. Really a nice piece. I sent it on to my friend as per my original intention. He has gotten great responses from the local folks. After that I tried to order more but was advised that the listing had been removed. Perhaps the Porsche trademark guys got involved.

Herlin - I used the smaller of the two available sizes. In retrospect I wish I had bought about 2 or 3 dozen, as there are all kinds of applications.

Martin - That's a brilliant idea too; our local car club just placed a large order with a trophy shop.

Nice tip Dave. I bet the vendors getting a rush on orders for these - maybe they can throw you some commission!

I have been using large hat pins. Just cut off pin stem and epoxy on. Mine have been on for years.

Thanks for the post. I like the way the buckle with item looks and bought two sets, one large and the other small. The large was too large and the small was just right. Nice product and thanks again.

A great product; easily put into use. I should have purchased more but easy to reorder later.
I also used the smaller version and I am very happy with the result.
Quick response from the vendor and properly packed and promptly shipped.
