Moll batteries were an OEM fitment. Porsche sells a Moll for our cars. However, the original specification is 84 ampere-hours, and Moll still makes that battery. For some inexplicable reason, Porsche only imports the 77 a-h model. The 84 a-h model is available from European suppliers. Moll doesn't seem to have much of a distribution network in the US.

I will be replacing my 6v with any DRY brand, and I’ll remove the decal so only the black case is visible. My three hundred dollar optima just looks wrong. I’m sure any brand new one hundred dollar battery will start her up just as well. Besides, after a few years, I’ll just have to do it all over again. For me appearance is a strong motivator rather than impressing my friends.

Curious as to how you managed to pay $300 for a 6 volt Optima. Summit Racing has them for about $188 with free shipping.......
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

"A" cars have a cover and you don't see the battery. Is T5 the same? T6 can use an Optima with a cloaking device covering it to look right. Does anybody make a "normal looking" 6 volt battery that is not wet? As far as looks go I really hate the look of battery acid corrosion.

I just purchased a 6v Optima from Chatham Motorsports -- long time 356 owner and until recently advertiser in the Registry -- price $152.75.
