1961 356B Super 90 “notchback” nearing completion
Getting closer. Full restoration to COA/kardex with a few period correct reversible “upgrades”...Royal Blue/Light Grey. Will have a wood steering wheel and pepita centers added for my taste. Tecnomagnesio wheels, Marchal lights and a few other “chicken outlaw” reversible goodies.

Exciting! Nice color too. Thanks for restoring a notch, we need some more of those done. That thing should really pop at the 356 gatherings.

Thanks CJ. I am part of a seemingly small segment that really loves the way the notch looks. To me it’s like a little thug. And I am restoring this one to the highest quality possible. My goal is to have one of the nicest T5 karmann coupes in the country... I’m all in

Johanthan, what a beautiful job you are doing. Kudos to you on the patience to take the time to do it right. That paint looks like a wet seal. Must be hard not to sprint to the finish.

Funny how ones taste for color can change over the years.
My 1961 notch was originally royal blue, and I really didn't like that color when I was 19 so I painted it silver which was nice for a couple of years, but the desert sun quickly made that paint look like primer, and the next practical desert color became ivory, which has held up quite well now for decades.
Now that I see this royal blue, 40 years later, I love that color now. Just sayin'
