Air cleaner for Solex

#1 Post by Doug McDonnell »

My Solex 40PII carbs in my Outlaw have 6" velocity stacks. Anyone know where I could find air cleaners that would fit with the Velocity stacks on? I have seen some tall air filters in pictures but have been unable to find any.

have you tried something like this? or just the socks? They do well on Zenith carbs. great for rocks, insects and small birds, not much else.

I am hoping to keep slightly smaller things out. Straining rocks and small birds is what I am doing now. Probably will ditch the velocity stacks.

John Willhoit was selling air filters with built in velocity stacks and a K & N filter. I have a set on my 1883 cc engine. They are about twice as tall as the Knecht Solex air filter.

You can borrow my Snorpie's, if you plan on any creek crossings!

Cool looking but I want real air filtration. I have K&N filters that will fit if I remove the velocity stacks. Only if my bridge is damaged Adam. I do live on a Creek.

Don't you like to hone your cylinders as you drive, Doug?

A corvair racer in Kansas stacked 2 K&N on top of each other. He had more clearance than our 914. BTW, our motor made more Hp with the top covers on than off.
