Engine 68592 Christopher Smith

#1 Post by Fred Otjen »

Mr. Smith is listed in the data base as having engine 68592 which is original to a 1958 356 I have. If you (or someone) could contact me I would appreciate it.

It appears that he was familiar with the car/engine issue, but in a different direction-see here:

Here's one he posted (about top won't go down) that says he's in New Jersey.

Ok, I am clear on this now, I'm just a slow learner. I was not pulling the headliner and insulation out from in between the bows. It still does not go down much further. For some reason I thought that I had seen some cars that the top frame sat lower when retracted, but again that must have been wishful thinking. I do have a boot, and it fits snug. Thanks again for the attention. If anyone is in the north Jersey area and wants to get together for a drive, drop me a PM.

Chris and his wife have brought a trailer full of Porsche parts to Ski Roundtop and Hershey in the past. Sending you a PM Fred.
