Steve, I vote yes. Details of this wiper setup came back to my mechanic as we were looking at this yesterday. He pointed out the bushing on my blade and showed me teflon? pads at the junction on some blades for other models.
So would delrin make good bushing material? The bushing would have to be split so it could be forced on, yet rigid enough to stay on, and have a low coefficient of friction.
Jon, you are right- no ancient bushing will hold up decades later.

Steve, it's not actually stated that T5 Roadsters had SWF 2400 arms and blades "fitted with screws on top", I think that is your interpretation of what was written.
Please quote the line or lines on that page that lead you to that conclusion.
SWF 2400 was a complete windshield wiper system. It was not the number for all individual parts of that system, which might have also been used on other SWF systems.

Jon,
I was quoting the SWF 2400 that Johnson said for Roadsters and the picture (which would seem to be the only one that fits the description). I have no stake in this, just want to know.

interesting topic. Jon's posted specifications agree with my SWF catalog entries.
question: is there a source for 260mm rubber inserts with the appropriate width and profile ?
I want to reuse my pickle fork blades.

Jerry, could you share photos the pages of your SWF catalog entries pertaining to 356?

James;
the detail pix are from the January 1959 full line catalog.
the January '57 & May '62 catalogs are exploded view diagrams only of the wiper systems.

apparently the forum software only allows a maximum of 10 photos. (... or is that a configuration issue ?)

Jerry,
Thank you for posting this. I didn't see a picture of the wiper arm for Roadsters- did I miss it?

from the May 1962 SWF catalog. my earliest Bosch catalog dates from '58 / '59 and shows nothing specific to Porsche. I have no other Bosch catalogs until '66.

Here's a pic I found of Jon Bunin's early 60 Roadster taken for a magazine. Looks like the wipers are original, no nut on end and shepards crook arms

I think that picture came from a Road & Track article?
I wish we could see the 128 lenses clearly, to see the crown logo.

It was one of several photos taken for an April 1960 PCA Panorama article.
That photo was not used in the article...

That left wiper doesn't look right. Were it mine, I would bend the end of the arm so that the blade parks parallel to the trim. As does the left blade. It looks pretty sloppy this way.

Here are the wipers on the Road & Track test car, also a Roadster, from the March 1960 issue...
