Which Sebring?

My 2 cents:

1720 cc engine / SX1 camshaft / 9.4 to 1 CR / 40 PII with 34 mm venturies

With a Sebring from UK : 91 hp on the dyno.

With one original Leistritz : 107 hp....... the engine was running like a dream!

To be clear: same place, same dyno, 2 days between the first test and the second test. On both tests I spent time to find the best jetting (one step on the street, the second step on the dyno)!

My opinion (sorry, my English is to poor to explain correctly) : one exhaust system with a very short final pipe can't work on a 356 engine (specially with those long primaries).

Running a little better but still has the odd fart, thats why i'm trying to decide on an exhaust so I can fix any leaks I may have!

Wow, that's a significant difference. I may rethink my sebring plans

16 horsepower is a ton to lose. They look like they would drag easily on driveway transitions also.

Not sure I have 16hp to give up... Interesting discussion, as I have been considering swapping out the Bursch Street Quiet item I put on the car as a temporary measure 20 years ago. Sebring style was under consideration. May have to reconsider.

When we did some dyno runs at The Stable years ago, we didn't find any aftermarket exhaust which matched the stock one on a street engine, and it shouldn't be surprising; the factory spent many hours on a dyno optimizing that part.
Pretty sure John W. got similar results.
Race engines are another matter; the factory had no intention of running the 616 engine to 7KRPM, and I doubt any of us driving on the4 treet dod, either.

So I guess I go for "the look" of a sebring or find another replacement for my stock exhaust which seems to leak. Has anyone tried CSP, Eisenmann or VintageSpeed Sebring exhausts?

The original exhaust is flexible! It works on 60, 75, 90 & 95 Hp and it's ok for modified engines. If you look on the 911 side, the design of the exhaust is the same and it works on 2, 2.2, 2.4, 2.7 liters engines (some guys use it on 3.0 or 3.2 liters engines).
Few weeks ago, I had a discussion with a guy who is working for Chabord (exhaust for race cars & aircrafts) and he told me: Porsche uses, in 2018, the same design for "Carrera cup" exhaust!

Just for the fun...... Chabord makes exhaust with inconel sheets! Yes, they don't use tubes. They roll and weld a sheet of inconel (0.6 mm thickness)! The result for a 356:

Olivier, how much? Does it get a muffler or just a race tailpipe? Megaphone? Do they do the sheet to "tune" via internal shape?

Most racers use the big stepped Bursch but I had this made for mine. It would be a bit loud on the street though.
