I just traced the original owner of my '61 Coupe 116343 (John Christian) which he collected from the factory in May 1961; he is alive and well and full of stories; more of that later. He told me that after collection from the Porsche factory, he drove it around Europe (Switzerland, Italy, France and Germany at least ! ) and he wrote his travels up for Porsche Christophorus Magazine I would guess sometime in late 1961 or 1962.
I can't find a general "issue" index with authors etc anywhere ... so if someone has a set from this period and is willing to look, would you be kind enough to see if his tour article exists....one tease is Christophorus Magazine #42 on ebay, which in the description refers to "The Tour d’Europe" could that be it I wonder ??
It would be great to have with the car and to show John again.

Re: My 1961 Original Owner & Porsche Christophorus Magazine
Hi, I've gone through Christophorus starting in Jan 1961 through May 1963 (numbers 31 through45) and I find no mention of Mr Christian's trip. Christophorus number 42, which is Nov 1962, has an article by Peter Falk called "The Moroccan Adventure" which is "sketches from the Tour d'Europe 1962.

Thanks so much for looking Ed.
Memories change with time - maybe I will find it later in another magazine. John and his wife are going to fly out to Utah in May to see and drive the car (I hope), as a birthday present from his wife. It will be great to offer them some hospitality and reunite him with 'his' car. To be continued.

Steve,
Perhaps someone can search through Panorama magazines of the same period.
