Sploiler alert for fake screwdriver on ebay

#1 Post by Harvey Rosenthal »

It never ceases to amaze me the common crap that some folks try to pass off as a rare 356 tool kit item. Here's the most common example. Guys, this isn't even close to the real deal, just a very common American made stubby screwdriver that some nucklehead wants you to spend good money on. Please do the research, try Eric Cherneff's tool website first, before you buy any tool for your Porsche tool kit. The item number of this bogus item on ebay is 321054942314

Harvey,
I still like the duckbill screw driver you sold me for my kit a few years ago!
Still can't figure out where the original one went over the 48 years I have had the car and kit.

John,
It's nestled into all those left socks I've lost over the years. Once got an email claiming they're in a large field outside Yakima.
But, hey, I got some strange correspondents.

The description (not the title) says:

"Rare Porsche or VW or Mercedes or other unknown blond short stubby screwdriver ..."

So, hard to accuse him of deception. The title, yes, but technically ... no. I contacted him via Ebay about the title and he got very snotty about it. He's trolling of course, but Ebay does not disallow what he's doing.

Not for the 356B model (1960 - 1961) I bought new.

I, for one, don’t take anything on EBay at face value. Buyer beware. You had better know all the right questions to ask BEFORE buying anything.

Thanks Jim. It was authentic A. It was from my very early '57 A (shown in my avatar). Don't know why it didn't stay with the car when I traded it in on my first '64 C. Shortly after I posted the picture I gave the screwdriver to Steve Harrison to help finish out his tool kit.

Thanks for the reply though,
Wes
