Ron, we were still able to get DFV pistons from Cosworth in the early 90s. I don't have any experience with JE pistons in DFVs, but we did find Mahle pistons in some engines. Everybody who used them found an immediate gain on the dyno; keeping the rings square to the bore is really worthwhile.

Cosworth listed the recommended cylinder bore size for the pistons provided, as you can see on the label below.
