Gee, what happened to the $15,000 yellow coupe in the Classifieds with rebuilt engine and trans; only needed paint and upholstery?
Smokin' deal, right?

When I clicked on his profile I figured I'd see a join date within the last week or so, but the guy has been a member for almost 4 years. Talk about waiting to pounce!

Hey the car isn't a scam, I bought it, waiting for pink slip. Drives pretty well, transaxle rebuild a few hundred miles ago, new clutch and mounts too. Rebuilt engine by a good shop 5 years ago and has about 1500 miles on it. Ugly brown interior with short shag carpets, but it's in fair shape, just wrong. Yellow paint was a repaint many years ago, not much rust visible, new battery and tires. So not all of the deals out there are scams, and there are lots of cars waiting to be found.

Steve, I sort of pass on the 'scam' threads (not the 'fake' ones).
Serious? No jokin'?
If so, good on ya!

Congrats Steve. I saw that ad when it first came out and thought " Why can't that be in West Michigan?" Of course if it was a Michigan car it would have Flintstone floors.

I had meet the seller a few years ago and know the car. I also know the buyer. Both nice 356 guys. Steve paid considerably more than the seller wa asking because it was a bro deal all around.

Congrats, reminds me of the 80's 90's. I sent a reply right away too.
The only problem is that car will smell like garlic. :D Never forget the first time I drove through Gilroy.

Gilroy is well known for its garlic crop and for the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival, featuring various garlicky foods such as garlic ice cream,
leading to the city's nickname as the "Garlic Capital of the World".

Since Steve lives in Gilroy he is probably used to Garlic aroma. I golfed Eagle Ridge once on a SF to LA golf trip but didn't notice any aroma.

They are all probably pretty healthy after taking all that garlic in. :)
