Hi all
Being the most powerful Pushrod engine that Porsche made for the 356 the SC at 95 BHP ( I think ) How does this engine differ technically from the 912 unit at 90BHP? I do wonder why Porsche detuned the 912 engine, was the SC unit unreliable? Just interested.
Cheers Jay

My brain says the only difference 65 SC to 66 912 was compression ratio.9.5 to 1 went to 9.0 to1. Later 912,s had pollution stuff.

John,
Porsche's designation of 95 vs 90 hp is DIN measurement--thusly, 108 vs 103 SAE + S90's 102 hp.

I wondered if they’d lost a bit at the top for more mid range given the 912 was a lot heavier, but slightly faster accelerating.
