Hello
I had all the Chrome on my C-coupé redone and am in the proces of rebuilding the assemblies.
All went well (although the quarter windows took all my patience and more time then I expected...) except the door-window assemblies....
I can’t seem to get the vent windows to fit, there is an ugly gap and they are pretty hard to operate ... any pointers very much appreciated.
Maybe an obvious note but it’s my first attempt at doing something like this...
Thanks for the help.
Hans

A little bit less wrong but still not right on the other assembly.
The problem on the first window is that has a bigger gap in the upper section.
The other assembly has larger gap in the lower section.
Thanks for the help.

Is there any chance the upper pivots are slightly different on each side, and need to be swapped? I cannot remember the exact details of mine, and my left side was a different year and style so no chance of a mistake.

Do you have the small fiber washer in between the hinge pivot? Also, I like to use body putty to secure the top chrome hinge piece because I can manuever the glass to fit better.

Thanks
In the mean time I swapped the pivot-parts. It fits a little better know but not perfect.
I think I’ll have to remove the top chrome parts on the vent windows and try again...
Kind regards
Hans

I've found that the fitment of the glass within the frame has a pretty big impact on how the overall assembly fits the main frame.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Just a thought, but its looks as though the frames are a bit racked (as might be expected after 50+ years). It may be that fastening the lower frames in the doors will correct the rack and make the frames more closely align with the windows. Judicious use of washers in fastening to the inner doors may also help.
