Trouble fitting brake pads
I am trying to replace the pads on my 356C brakes. Currently working on the rear ones. No problem getting the old pads out, but I can’t seem to get the new ones in. When I spread open the calipers with my wooden wedge, they just spring back out. I even loosened the bleeding nipple to help, but no different. Am I missing something?

Re: Trouble fitting brake pads
The force required to press the pads back into the caliper is higher than you are generating with the wooden wedge. There is a pin grabber feature within the caliper that is designed to establish static friction. Start thinking of buying a large C-clamp.

You can also use a flattened end of a wide crowbar (or a large screwdriver) w/a protective piece pressing on the center of the piston.

Thanks. The crow bar worked. Brakes are in, lines flushed, and working well.
