Can someone help me to identify this OEL cap??? It came on my engine when I bought my 356 C, but I have no clue what the correct application is. I will likely sell it as well, but no clue as to it's rarity (or commonality :D ).
Any/all help appreciated.

Paul,
That's the fairly common "730" cap, but you have it upside down. More common in the US is the "710" cap.

There is one in every crowd. OEL = 730 upside down, hilarious!

Paul,

There are two types of VW oil caps that are similar. The most common one has two rivets in the middle whereas your has an indent. The Other one is identical to yours with the indent, BUT....they both have the VW symbol on them. Your is obviously from the same manufacturer as the VW cap.

EDIT: I lifted some images from the Samba, mods please delete if that is not ok.

The more common VW cap with rivets:

The VW cap identical to yours and has the VW logo:

Thanks Sebastian. Much appreciated. Seems it has little or no value EXCEPT, maybe some day since I am a Travel Assistance Network (TAN) guy, somebody might leave their correct OEL cap at a gas station and realize it 150 miles later. This would at least provide a temporary cap for their trip home. Into the "junk" drawer it goes!
