throw out bearing

#1 Post by Rich Berger »

Hi All
Finally finished my 65 912 engine, and getting ready to install it in my 60 T5 B Cab. Changed the flywheel and other stuff recommended by the Maestro. But there is no discussion on throw out bearings. I have a 741 dual mount trans and a 200 mm 356 clutch flywheel assembly. . So, the question is which throw out bearing do I use ? B or C?

Thanks
Rich

Your TO bearing should ride on a short tube bolted to the transmission which shrouds the first motion shaft. Makes it item #9 in the Stoddard link here.

Hence your clutch should be the 200mm one listed as item #4. That is what I deduce from the information you supplied.
Pictures would help to narrow it down.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.
