Hello everyone hope you are trying to stay warm--which brings me to the time of year when we think of everything we need to do to drive the 356 in the spring --looking to have floor work done --live in the northeast but can deliver car . I see there is someone in west palm fla that does work . Does anyone have any comments on this shop ( prices look to be reasonable ) Thanks

Adam, the vagueness of your response sounds a little ominous. If that was your intention, it worked. If it wasn't, you may have unintentionally given some of us cause for concern regarding their service.

I don't understand why people always have to be so cryptic about experiences with vendors or shops. Shouldn't one of the services of the site be to expose those who provide shoddy service or products? The Samba has a Feedback Forum where this is done and it has saved many people from costly and painful experiences in the course of restoring or maintaining their vehicles.

I would try not post badly if I felt it was basically a personality mismatch, but if it is simply bad work or bad business, I agree that names should be shared.

Those of us in the business have to be careful how we critique other's in the business. Kind of like throwing rocks and living in a glass house. The shop and person is already named so if anyone does a search wants to talk to me they can send me a PM. I hope this explains it better.

I DO BELIEVE THIS ALL SERVES A PURPOSE. No one has left negative remarks but i do consider the registry a close group of people that share a love for these cars. We all know that replacement of floors and key panels can greatly affect your car and its value . Everyone should do thier homework before entering in to such a project. Zim's Autotechnik is expecting a large shipment of German sheet metal to arrive the week of Jan. 22 2018. to facilitate ease if installation and prolonged life our supplier is coating the metal with a super thin (.01mm or .0003") coating of zinc. No longer will you have to remove the red paint (which was used to prevent rust in shipment) in the areas that need to be welded nor will you have to be concerned about excessive fumes from welding . If you require, the zinc can be removed with scotch brite. There will be a larger selection of replacement parts and new stampings for most of the older parts. Preferably remove the zinc before welding, unless you like a friendly amount of poisonous fumes.
