Correct gearshift knob for A?

I am trying to source affordable dash knobs and gearshift knob for my A project. Someone has a gearshift knob for ale but isn't sure if it is pre-A, or A. Can someone tell?

Neither, that is a vw knob, A knobs are solid

Jules, most likely the later knob, but not so sure in the early A cars, including my 55100 with the forward mounted, low-bend shift lever and mushroom style shift knob with dimple on top. This is supported by the May 1957 parts catalog though sometimes the diagrams were slow to be updated. Haven't considered searching for when the change occurred as my car was very early and seemed to be outfitted correctly.
It would help to know what the VIN # or model year is.

My 52/53 has a mushroom knob, its different from the one in the pic. Afaik t1 and t2 had the same knob.

Ed rutherford at klasse356 sells a nice repro for 75 bucks

OK. I did switch out the knob that came with the car for an A knob because I liked it and couldn't determine at the time if the knob it came with was authentic. Thanks and Happy New Year.

Don't know if you're interested, but, I have a repro I will sell for an "A", shipping included for $60.00

It took me two and a half years to get an original at a price that didn't require me loosing any of my anatomy. All my dash knobs were original with patina, so I had to find a shift knob to match, Had Too!!!!!!
