Nope, we've entered the Doldrums of endless sanding and final shaping. I was there last week, lots of progress, but it gets a lot less dramatic as time goes on.

I think you'll find the filler is a very thin coat, and he did the best he could with a lot of the really old warped welding. Damn you guys in the 80s with your gas welders!

You are right. In 1978 I gas-welded the original front and rear clips back onto my car after an idiot had cut them off with a torch. I did not do it a cleanly as shown in "Made by Hand".

Gas welding can be ok but not brazing. That is the worst.

I agree. And gas welding by the pros at Reutter was more than OK.

Panel fitting and edging. Considering the amount of bondo that was on the rockers and around the decklid, I'm very happy with the panel fitting. I bet the car will be lighter too!
