Side mirror help

#1 Post by Jason Tell »

The side mirror on my '61 356B Coupe broke. I ordered a new one that looks almost identical from AASE Sales (see attached photo). I removed the old mirror from the door and when I went to install the new mirror the studs did not align. The old mirror has studs about 1 5/8 inches apart and the new mirror has studs that are much wider. Anybody know where I can find a side mirror that will fit the existing holes in my door?

The only side mirror that I am aware of that has adjustable studs is the Durant. The studs on the reproductions of the Aero and the Ponto Stabil mirrors are fixed and not adjustable. I am surprised that no one thought to make all of the reproduction mirrors with adjustable studs.

I found out the Talbot Berlin mirror studs are 40mm apart, which should work for my car. I am going to order one.
