Vapor barrier in door panel

#1 Post by Shel Hart »

I followed the directions from my former post and it looks great. I then awoke at 4am thinking of former vapor barriers I’ve taken off to replace window regulators and said, crap. Too soo to pat myself on the back. What is typically used as a proper vapor barrier between skin and frame?

Shel,
My '64 coupe still has the original VB, and it is a very light plastic, similar to painter's plastic. It is fastened with a putty sort of material that you roll and stick the plastic to. I used a similar material on the windows of my split window bus.

I used 3mil plastic and cut just slightly shy of full door skin. Should do the trick.
