RIP Pat Daily :(

#1 Post by Sean M Rooks »

Friends,

Fellow Richmond Registry member Pat Daily passed away suddenly over the weekend.

Pat had a great big welcoming heart and was one of the first 356'ers I met in Richmond. I admired his knowledge and passion for actually DRIVING our cars - autocrossing and exercising his '63 B Coupe regularly and with vigor.

Pat was a great advocate for our little tubs, chatting up interested enthusiasts at our Richmond Porsche Meets and Cars and Coffees. His car was lovingly known as Fast Frieda.

He will be missed.

I never met Pat but felt like I had, he had a real passion and could always be relied upon to see the bright side of life.
My deepest condolences to his family.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

I am really shocked and sad to hear of Pat’s passing. Pat was a former neighbor that I enjoyed being around talking about Fast Frieda, my 356 and his latest model building project. The last time I spoke to Pat I was heading into the Richmond RPM as he was leaving. I was driving my (new to me) 911 Turbo. First thing he asked if I had sold my 356. When I told him no, he smiled and said let’s get together for another ride.
May God be with Pat, his wife and daughter.

A good guy was lost to us. Pat was a great Porsche enthusiast. I always liked talking to him at the local events.

There was a beautiful service for Pat at the Virginia War Memorial. Many of his family, friends, and fellow Porsche club members were in attendance.

Pat's car, Fast Frieda, was positioned to greet everyone at the entrance.

A few of the Porsches who visited in tribute. A number of cars had already left when this photo was taken.

The attendance was rather incredible and standing room only. Pat had an amazing life and will be missed. Here is his obit for those who want to learn more about him:
