Good one David!

I wish you great health in the new year, it would be great if you are able to get out and about, perhaps even attend the Stoddard swap in June.

David - Happy New Year to you too! The only thing I ever found that I could use an 18mm wrench on was the chain tensioner lock nut on a 3.8 Jag
I was at a swap meet last summer and a guy had 18, 20, 23 and 25 mm sockets. When I told him these are all useless, he got indignant and threw me out of his spot.
Best wishes to all members for a great 2018.

15mm box end (ring spanner)?
Starter bolt on 250 Ferraris and you are NOT going to get it off without one.

My 1996 Passat TDI has 18mm bolts on the front caliper mounting bracket.

BTW did you know the 96 - 97 Passat TDI Wagon can hold almost 25 gallons when filled slow and
using the vent lever inside the fuel filler.
When cruising in 5th gear a dialed in 96 TDI Wagon can get 50 mpg.
Thats 1250 miles on one tank of fuel ! Probably the most range of any car ever imported in the USA ?
One guy claimed to have gotten 1400 miles on a tank.

My friends over at the 914 site are showing photos of their 2.0 & 1.8 badges. Of course, they did the same sort of thing in 2017.
Happy motoring in 2018.

Martin, much as I like the idea of going over 1000 miles on a tankful my bladder seems to have a limit coincident with the time it takes to travel nonstop on a tankful in my 356 at freeway speeds. Country road driving is half that probably exacerbated by bladder jostling requiring more frequent stops for relief.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.
