Twin grilles first used on the 1959 Carrera Deluxe models...a one year, low production run.

When the car was new it sold for about $6,500., so the spare wheel probably was worth about $50. at that time. Of course, today...yikes!

I was thinking the straps were a reasonable precaution as the spare is worth more than my daily driver.

The lower valve covers appear to be a Carrera II motor, but the upper valve covers do not - or do my eyes deceive me?
Clamps holding the gas heater to the rear firewall are also incorrect (but the heater itself is correct).
