Looks like Dick is on to something: https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/30/rally ... ssic-cars/ Except you can't drive the car!Dick Douglass wrote:Recently researched a new idea in 356 ownership. A financial investor will buy a 356. He will keep 10-15 interest in the Porsche Speedster or Convertable D, or Coupe. They will sell off the remaining investment in parts of 2,000 shares... max.
The prices continue to climb in early Porsches so you buy a share or 10 shares or what ever and you trade them just like STOCK! The original investor maintains control and inventory of the car.
When you buy a share your get a certificate just like buying Gold or Stock. When you want to sell you post "For Sale" and wait for the market to offer you a price you will accept.
Owning a Porsche is now a commodity and the market will dictate future prices. They intend to own about 1500 cars, at only 10% of the cost of buying the car.
People all over the world will be able to say I own a piece of a Porsche 356.
The interesting piece of this is the Investor who bought the 356 and created the shares will collect a FEE every time a share is bought or sold.
Do you think this is where the future 356's will end up? Do you have excess cash to invest? Makes the $ 14,200 car a possible candidate to be restored and sold off in shares. I'm sure you get glossy colored pictures of your new investment.

Oh, but it is being restored, in Eastern Europe, where things are soooooo much cheaper. Never say never. I recently got these pics as an update on the car.C J Murray wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2017 5:42 pm Only a fool would restore that car. Even if it was a Carrera 2 you might be upside down. The twin grill roadster in the market report this month had receipts from Willhoit exceeding $400k. I bet that started out nicer than this coupe. Bill Kemper at Panelwerks in Mentor Ohio has a freshly restored T6 coupe for $85K. Write the check and start driving.

Just fess up Cliff, you ran your mouth about a world you know nothing about and have been proven wrong. Making false claims about how it might be sold is disingenuous.C J Murray wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 3:08 pm I can read the ad right now...."all original sheet metal". Buyer beware.

Re: Morning Ouch
The car in the BAT link in the first post (vin 117780) was restored by Bob in California to an amazing condition. I’m fairly sure it was listed for sale here in the classifieds at some point.
Post resto pics:
I was talking with Bob when I was shopping. He seemed to be a super guy. When I saw the BAT link of the original condition of the car, I passed. But kudos to him for giving part of his life to make this car whole again.

Adam, It's still a turd, I know that is your specialty but some poor unsuspecting soul will end up paying way too much for a turd. Buyer beware. I'm glad I know nothing about your world of turds.Adam Wright wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 3:25 pmJust fess up Cliff, you ran your mouth about a world you know nothing about and have been proven wrong.
