356 with MFI
I was reading in the book 356 driving at its purest form about a MFI fuel injected 356 engine that was developed with Bosch is '52. There is a engineering drawing of the pump and intake but nothing else does anyone have picture of the fuel injection on a 356 engine.

I'm not sure it's completely related but in the Michael May interview in the Mag (a few years ago) he talked about developing a fuel injected 4 cam engine. However, I think it was rejected by the other Porsche engineers.Tony Proasi wrote:I was reading in the book 356 driving at its purest form about a MFI fuel injected 356 engine that was developed with Bosch is '52. Tony
I'm not sure why you would want to go through the effort but in any case I'll throw in my dos centavos;
The last version of the VW Beetle had some type of fuel injection that could possibly be adapted to the 356 engine. Also there are many after market fuel injection "kits" that may work as well. Just to back up my old spiel to clients, "yes you can do anything you want as long as you have the time and money" a well know Norton guru has put one on a Norton Commando motorcycle.
To temper that though, unless you're Elon Musk, most people either run out of one or the other

I think Bill Sargent was working on a way to do it with his faux cam setup.

Jim Liberty had a 356 with injection -- maybe he'll chime in with details?

Re: 356 with MFI
Bosch had developed MFI for war-time aero engines, which was a development from their work on diesel engines. The 1952 Goliath GP700 had Bosch direct injection. I suspect the one for Porsche was very similar. A development of this system was used on the 1954 Mercedes Grand Prix cars and the 300 SLR of 1955.

Re: 356 with MFI
Guys thats for the input the drawing had a pump similar to what was on a 69-73 911. I was really intrested to see how they drove the pump. 911’s run of the camshaft... not much room to mount it on a 356.

Benton Performance has developed a fuel injected 616 engine that they use for 912s. Their method may answer your question about how to drive the pump.
