It reminds me of my first 356, only difference was mine had no big dent in the front and my seats were not that clean. And now people frequently fix worse ones, not that I think that is reasonable.

Lot of money for a VIN# he does not reveal. Methinks as a project car it is worth about negative $5K if you want a car to drive for about what you could pay for one already in driving condition. I would have to say though that if he offered me the car and $5K and delivered it I would have to turn him down because I doubt I would live long enough to complete it.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Speaking of Beverly Hills Car Club, have you seen this at the Lit Meet Shop Tour webpage:

* New This Year *
Los Angeles and the Petersen Museum
$90 per person. This includes a ticket to the Petersen Museum and Vault, as well as a guided tour.

We will be stopping first at the Petersen Museum, where we will be touring the famed “Vault” and the new Porsche exhibit that will be just opening. The Porsche Effect which will be the largest display of historical Porsche road and racecars outside of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. You can learn more about the famed Petersen Museum here: https://petersen.org

This tour also stops by Beverly Hills Car Club, a dealer with an enormous inventory of affordable project cars. You’ve seen their ads and online auctions, now you get to see these great starting points in person!

We think that this Petersen Museum Tour will be so popular we are going to offer this tour on both Thursday and Friday. This gives those that have been to the Lit Meet numerous times and option to try something new.

Petersen Museum: 6060 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Beverly Hills Car Club: 4576 Worth Street, Los Angeles, CA 90063

I don't personally think of the cars of the Petersen and the Cars of Beverly Hills Car Club in the same way.
