Hi everyone,
I don't have many posts but often use this forum to find answers to many questions as I slowly restore my 1964 C.
I'm currently looking to replace the front brake rubber hose. I don't know how old the hose is ( > 9 years) but it has a smooth spot from rubbing. When I look at different vendors I find different lengths. From 356 vendors I've found 350mm and 410mm, and from my local auto parts store, 380mm. Does anyone know which length is correct? Since mine have most likely been replaced, I see no value in measuring mine.
Also, does anyone know someone near Yorba Linda (North Orange County), CA, that can straighten a kinked hood?
Thanks,
Frank

For the brake hose, check Klasse 356" Stoddard, etc. for the correct hose.

Re: Front brake hose length and kinked hood advice
Just call Stoddard and ask for Maurice my favorite parts guy. Rubbing is usually due to incorrect orientation of the Banjo ring fitting. The opening should be pointing forwards and slightly up. When it is in this position the brake hose assumes it's correct S curve. I advise you to replace all 4 rubber brakes hoses, fronts and rears. And most any good 356 bodyman can fix your hood. Bent hood frame must be cut out, fabricated and welded in place to do it correctly. Many hoods have been straightened and frame Bonded over to look good but frame has lost strength. In your area try Jim East: http://www.eastautobody.com Bent hood is usually due to not knowing the hinges have star clusters or the hinge is worn and needs rebuilding. Hood frame repair pieces are also available from Restoration Design: http://www.restoration-design.com/store/product/PP151LC and http://www.restoration-design.com/store/product/PP151RC
