After a drawn out thought process where I bounced between different ideas in relation to where I should place my front plate and the size and style I have now decided on a small Italian style plate attached under the front bumper.

The size is approximately 11 x 3 inches.

I know that there are 2 drainage holes under the front bumper however if these don't fit the size of plate I may have to make others, not an issue.

My question is does anyone produce the brackets to attach at this point for the front plate.

I would sooner purchase something than fabricate it.

It's not the look I'm trying to achieve.

After a bit of research I have seen that John Coppello was producing a front bracket, does anyone know if he is still making these.
I would be interested to see one mounted on someone's car with the number plate attached if someone has a picture.
Finally can I ask what height of plate covers the bracket.

I made the bracket over the weekend and have now fitted it to the bumper using the original 2 drainage holes.
There appears to be a further 2 holes under my bumper also.
As suggested I used aluminum, 8 inches long, 20mm x 40mm.
I used small rubber washers between the bracket and the bumper.

That's pretty much how I did mine as well, Eric. Nicely done!

I'll post a picture tomorrow of the bumper back on the car.

I didn't drill any holes in the plate to attach to the bracket, instead I used a wurth panel adhesive to secure it, this stuff sets solid over a few hours, I couldn't bring myself to drill into the plate.

The plate was made in the Italian style by a company called tippers that still use the original press machines.

I, too, used the drain holes to mount an aluminum angle bracket. U.S. Plates have the mounting holes at 7 inches apart so I drilled holes on the face of the bracket at 7 inches and installed Riv-nuts. The plate is held on by two Allen head screws. I don't display the front plate but, if needed, I can attach it very quickly. I painted the bracket the same color as the bumper so it is unnoticeable. Small rubber plugs cover the mounting holes so they don't fill up with road dirt. In between the bracket and bumper is a piece of thin rubber to prevent damage to the paint.

Here is the front number plate attached, I'm pleased with the result.

A simple bracket which cost next to nothing to make.

I placed the rear on today also, I was going to use the small bracket to a fix the plate however I didn't like the plate sitting high of the rear, I opted for some double sided number plate tape which holds the plate nicely in place.
