Franken Coupster. It looks better with the top on, and it shows better on video than it did on the E-Bay photos. The metal work is good and probably took 1000 hours. It has all those extra wires, computers and water. I will pass on a restomod 356.

Love it with the top on. Top off-Not so much. I loved the Cayman I leased for 2 years. Maybe that is why it appeals to me with the top on.

Last I saw it was at auction at Mecum, estimate $275K-350K: https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0817-30608 ... -114068161

Might look better with smaller wheels, if that were possible on the Cayman platform. The 17s just look weird on a classic body style. Maybe a different wheel finish could work as well.

Can't fix those rear proportions, though. Yeesh. I can't imagine the work involved and it appears to have been done to a pretty nice standard given it's from the guys who brought you "pimp my ride".

Just looked it up. High bid was $200,000. I'm surprised it went that high. He probably has that much in it or more though so he probably should fall in love with it again and keep it.

Butt ugly with the top off. Not so bad with the top on, but a single or a double, far from a home run.

Clearly the Boxster/Cayman that was converted to RS-K (or was it a 60) similar look was a much better outcome.

This was their original concept, they seemed to have gone off the rails a little....
