has anyone heard of Michael Matthijs from Belgium recently? He agreed to buy a part i had listed in the classifieds from me, we agreed on a price and he sent me a shipping address where to send the part to.

I took the listing off the classifieds and am still waiting on payment (8 days) but now he seems to have vanished. Not answering emails.

Since we made a deal, I feel a little hesitant to just relist the part.

I sent a message to a seller that I'd buy an item and all his replies were going into my spam folder. I'm sure he thought I was a flake (no comments from the peanut gallery!) until I discovered them. Of course, you also have the possibility of it working the other way around too - yours into his spam folder ...
Try sending a message through the 356 Registry site Email button if you haven't tried that.
