Yea that's 5 of them in the last six weeks. The black one on eBay, looks like it was reciently painted with a spray can.

Yeah but the good news is that it is "screaming for a restoration."

We just sold one back to the Fatherland. That's two this year, never thought I would see one, and I had two drop in my lap.

89686 just popped up on ebay. T5 steering wheel and S90 tach can be corrected easily, and Liegesitze does not translate into leather (rather reclining seats) but looks like a decent car. No affiliation

Tom Scott was selling (brokering?) that car a few months ago in our classifieds and on eBay. Price then was about $50K higher, if memory serves.

They've been spamming facebook with that one just about every other day.

I especially like this part Please inspect the Black 62 Roadster in the pictures, same car, sold for over $500k,[/quote]

In one of his spams he mentioned he had offers that were close to the asking price; he shoulda took the money and ran.

How do you get to $416K?

$200K for body and paint work: 1,000 hours at $200 per hour.

$100K for mechanicals.

$50K for interior.

You are still $66K short. And my estimates are much beyond generous.

How do you get there? You write a blank check to one of the best restorers, you can get there.

Maybe they hand crafted the entire car from flat steel?

We had a S90 Roadster last year like that, it was in a fire, looked like a potato chip. It went to Poland where they planned to re-skin the whole car.

Makes sense, labor is probably closer to 20 an hour, not 200

Shop rates are much higher than what individual technicians make. Metro dealerships and high end restoration shops might be approaching $200 per labor hour.
