under dash courtesy light

is this a correct under dashboard courtesy light for a 356C ?

Yes. Also used on some older BMWs.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

i think that is a repro, originals have a chrome surround

do you mean a chrome bezel ?

The chrome is actually under the lip of the light.

the AASE one is very nice yes. Even has the Hella logo.

Are you certain about the plain one not possibly being correct for a C? I know that the one with the chrome is correct for some earlier cars, but my first C had the plain plastic one, as does my current C (which I can't be sure about originality). I also had a BMW 2002 that used the plain one. I wouldn't doubt that Porsche might have changed to the less expensive plain one at some point.

Never say never though, so I can't state categorically that the C had or didn't have "chrome" around the edge of the light.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....
