For $10K you could make that an absolutely spectacular car: a few thousand to sand off the red paint down to the original Oslo blue, fix up the engine compartment, and get some real Hella 128's.

To sand down ................ etc for 10K ? Not even close to get to the quality of the other T-6 Rdstr for $500 grand.

The classic car crowd (Dues'y, Bugatti, Cad V16), says "each last show point costs $100K" .

10k will add about just that to the value. 10k for a decent respray. and once you start sanding, there is the 'surprise' and then the 'while you are in there' factor.

another 100k will show a big difference and will make this a very nice car. but it still would not be matching.

Let's just put it this way, the battery box, or lack thereof... The battery sits on the passenger side. We haven't started talking about the rust in the bottom of the doors and I didn't even bother getting underneath it

the t6 is relisted. He now has info from the COA and then 'believes to be ordered with a S90'.... so i wonder what strings had to be pulled to get Porsche to write 'not confirmed' on there. If it isn't known, it says not recorded. they forgot to list the tonneau cover on the COA as well. And the 'luggage rack cushion' is the rear seat pad.

I think "not confirmed" must be the new terminology for: What is in there is not original, but we are not going to tell you what the original was.

Some 5+ years ago I redid (Not restored) the last twin grill imported to the US. Correct paint work without metal is a $20 to $30K proposition, not 10. At lease with my gang. Considering the 251 examples, the low prices these cars bring, still amazes me.

The black T6 roadster at sothebys sold for 506k..... that's not really cheap. And they spent $416k at Willhoit for a resto. that has to be a record for a non-twin cam.

Jules, I did not see that one. Thanks for the heads up. My belief is that the 356 market is not softening. There are just a lot more "Driver" cars coming to market. The collectors that want the really well done cars are still paying top dollar. I see this in the 911 market also. Seems like the "Used Car" lots are flooding the auction houses. That is not a complaint. Driving the early Porsches is still the thrill to me. There is room for all of us in this hobby.
