Spark plugs

#1 Post by Jon Schmid »

So I order replacement Bosch spark plugs for my 1964 356C coupe. They arrived today. Made in Russia. Does that mean I need to add Stolichnaya to my gas for them to work properly?

Shoulda bought NGK.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

What's sad is that I prefer NGK's. BP7HS as a replacement? My Roadster is ready for a changeover soon.
Thanks in advance--

Jon, I am running 6BPHS which I believe is a more forgiving plug over a decent heat range. I found a place on line that has a very good price on them with very reasonable USPS shipping. I have plenty of various makes of plug left over from my Vee racing days so am never without a plug for spares

I would like to know what is the proper or preferred heat range for are engines with a 9 to 1 compression ratio and running non ethanol 90 octane fuel. I'm running the NGK 7331/BP6HS now mainly because the Bosch plugs are hard to find in this little town. I also like to run the non resistor plug as I have no radio and I under stand the ceramic piece that slips onto the plug is already a resistor. thanks for the help. George

I just bought four of these from Rock Auto for $1.39 each and shipping was $2.99. (https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/ngk,7 ... +plug,7212)
I believe that's also about what I paid when I ordered some from them a couple years ago.
