I had a 356 C wiper arm that was rusty. I sanded it, painted with Duro/Loctite Extend, and I then sprayed it with Wurth silver spray paint followed by clear coat.
After about 6 months a lot of bubbles came up under the paint, which looks very ugly.
What does anyone recommend as a chemical paint stripper to remove all these layers, so I can redo the job properly?

Soak it in brake fluid?
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Brake fluid? I hadn't thought of that. I have a quart bottle on the garage shelf that was opened a couple years ago, which is probably too old to use in the brake system anyhow.David Jones wrote:Soak it in brake fluid?
Thanks.

If you turn to methylene chloride based paint remover, then paint it with the paste, wrap it in saran wrap for an hour to direct the solvent inward, unwrap it, and use a small wire brush. Repeat as necessary.
Pick out any rust pits to shiny steel surface using scriber.
Use phosphoric acid etch.
Use a zinc iron phosphate conversion coating. Rinse well with cold water. Aggressively hand dry with paper towels. Wick residual water rinse liquid from crevices. Toast with hair dryer.
Paint using Stoddard wiper arm silver.

Re: paint stripping wiper arms
I've had good luck stripping the paint with a brass wire wheel, wiping it down with paint prep, then using self-etching primer prior to paint. No problems thus far. I remove the spring first.
