People seem to be missing my point. If you watch the original factory videos, you will see that they used 2 coats of paint, a base coat and a final coat. They were sometimes different. Meissen Blue for example, used basic blue for the base coat. This is Wilhoits color sample exactly. But then the painters, for the final color coat, in the factory, they mixed in the additional pigment to achieve what was in effect “Meissen Blue”, which has:

The ppg formula for a quart in CLV CONCEPT is as follows:

DMC900 (STR WHITE): 568.2 (incremental), 568.2 (cumulative)
DMC934 (VIOLET): 172.9 (incremental), 741.1 (cumulative)
DMC925 (BLUE): 129.9 (incremental), 871.0 (cumulative)
DMC908 (YELLOW): 83.5 (incremental), 954.5 (cumulative)
DMC936 (BLUE SHADE PHTHALO GREEN): 12.3 (incremental), 966.8 (cumulative)
DXC999 (Mixing Clear): 99.4 (incremental), 1066.2 (cumulative)
DT885 (Solvent): 117.2 (incremental), 1183.4 (cumulative)

If they matched a base or under coat color, how did they obtain it? And why?

I was just questioning the details, but of course the color should be correct for a given car.
