RIP Tony Gerace

#1 Post by Jim Neil »

My 356 has been with TLG Automotive for 6 months plus, waiting for an ignition switch rebuild from Tony Euganeo. I
let it sit way too long and it needed a complete fuel system cleanse and carb rebuild, the repro ignition I installed wasn't turning over, though it may have been defective and not improperly wired.

Got a call from the owner / founder's son, Marco, today, rebuilt ignition finally arrived. I guess Tony the key man is still alive and kicking, though awfully slow.

Was very sad to learn Tony Gerace, the founder, had passed in March. Only met him once or twice at the Dana Point concours, but very nice guy. Interesting history (http://www.tlgauto.com/about-tlg-porsche-service/). Not a 356 specialist per se, but an old time Porsche pro, I think. Not that old.

Sad news, I wish Tony;s family the best and extend my sincere condolences. Bummer, getting old and losing friends is the worst.
