Hugh Hefner Hatfield has a nice ring to it. Silk PJs indeed. I don't think Hef ever had a 356 though.

Paul
I just helped put a hood on Tom Olsens B coupe, he had a C hood on it and still has the old one, it had a few rust bubbles showing up in the nose, but the hinge was good. Bob Brooks can fix that dent/ crease

I have talked to Tom. You may know he only lives about 1 mile from me. I kind of hate to cut up a relatively good hood to save this one, but it may come to that. The hood on my car is original, so I will find a way to save mine and I will be needing help from someone who has done this job before.

If the hood story is the bad news, there is good news. The engine was rebuilt by Lukes and Shoreman. I have the receipt from 1999. Car has only traveled 17k since that rebuild. Photo of what I saw when I removed valve cover attached.

One of the fun things is that it came with at least a partial tool kit. Came with the 4 wrench set including the 12 x 14 wrench. No screwdrivers though!

Paul, time to update your e-mail signature unless you are looking for another 356!!
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

My first Porsche was an Irish Green with Tan interior '65 C, so I definitely have a soft spot for this car.

I am checking with the shop that repaired mine to see if they have a template where they could make them also. Will report back when I hear from them. If I remember correctly Stoddard used to sell the repair piece also but I no longer see it listed. I checked with Stoddard and they no longer have that piece. Restoration Design also sells the repair piece left: http://www.restoration-design.com/store/product/PP151LC and right: http://www.restoration-design.com/store/product/PP151RC
