Looking for 117666 B coupe

#1 Post by Rusty Ferrell »

A few years ago I sold the subject coupe to a chap who flipped the car to a buyer in San Francisco, I believe he is an independent dealer, Steve something or other. At any rate Steve sold to a guy to restore the car. I tried to reach out to the new owner through Steve some time ago to no avail.
Since selling the car the previous owner brought me a box of receipts and manuals. The service booklets show the car sold new in San Jose, CA through Anderson Motors. I have all the service history since new for this coupe that I would like to pass on to whoever owns this car, Light Ivory with Black interior. the last service booklet entry was at 113464 done by Norm Anderson on 8/22/67.
Thanks for any help you left coast guys can offer. All I want is the shipping cost of the box.
best to all of you,
Rusty

I have lots of goodies that previous owner gave me, including a factory BC Workshop manual.

Rusty, I sure hope you find him; if it were mine I would certainly be grateful for your effort. My '62 was two cars behind it, also ivory/black.

Hello,
If you still have the VIN, try doing a google search. When people sell cars nowadays, the VIN is included in the internet ad. Doing an internet search or using a VIN tracer website may get you some leads. If not, you can try contacting DMV where you sold the car or where it was titled when you owned it. They may be able to offer guidance on the research. All of these are free/no cost options for information.
Hope this helps,
Alicia & Dan

California DMV won't provide the information to you, but I think there is a form you can send them, and then they will forward a notice to the current owner telling them someone is looking for them, and if they choose to respond, you may hook up with them. Check the CA DMV website.

I ALMOST bought a '61 cab in 1966, but passed at the last moment, but have pics and the then license plate. Have always been tempted to try this procedure to find the history of "the one I shouldn't have let get away". Don't think there is a similar procedure for wimmins, but oh well.
