Red Wire in Wiper Motor Bundle

#1 Post by Lynn Sheeley »

1961 356 B Notchback Coupe bought completely disassembled in boxes. No wiring marked.

I think I have all the under dash wiring hooked up. I have a red wire in the wiring bundle to the wiper motor. All the other wire colors matched up to Joe Leoni's diagram for the wiper motor. I can't find that red wire in Joe's book, a B wactory color diagram or any other resource material I have. Assume it is a power wire. Don't have any open ball wire end receptacles to plug into.

Anybody know the answer? Your help is appreciated.

Car has been off the road since 1973 so excited to be starting motor soon.

Lynn, check and see if it has power on it with ignition on and off and with wiper turned on and off. If there is no power just insulate it and ignore it as long as the wipers work.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

It's for the optional cigar lighter.
