The judges are really getting tough. Any idea where to get the original style with the knurled edge along the side of the top? I tried Terry and the other sources, but no luck. Thanks

Haven't seen those in years -- below is the only photo I can find but the color should be white nylon. If you want those concours points really bad, at the next swap meet look for engine lids that might have those plugs still there even though painted over. Don't have to buy the whole lid, just offer enough $$$ so the vendor gives up the plugs.

Usually the paint can be chipped or scraped away so the plug looks pretty good. Yellow coloration is just old age.

Do you mean these, and should there be 4 of them?

Those are the plugs Gabe is looking for. I suspect the same company made them for this application as well as to block off the tach cable hole at the rear of the tunnel when an electric tach is used and sealing the hole on a Knecht air filter on the SC Solexes. A serrated plug is also used on early 911/912 bumper guards to cover up the bolt access holes. Ecklers carries these with the serrated edge but they are too large for the luggage rack. Too bad no one is reproducing them for our luggage racks.

I have some of the early 911 ones from the bumper over riders - as I recall I have some larger and smaller ones. Will check.

Smaller ? in what part?
Upper diameter ?
Lower diameter ?
Height ?
Would it be possible to modify these to fit ?

Would you get the points if you use an original luggage rack instead of plugging the holes ?

The bumper plugs are larger all around and don't look like they can be modified.

Here are four original plugs, with a dime for size comparison.
These are similar to the amber plug in Gabe's photo. There may have been more than one version of these.
