Ex Don Nixon '60 S90 with GT Options, Looking for History

#1 Post by Don Ahearn »

I have recently purchased a '60 S90 built with factory roll bar, GT Brakes and alloy/steel GT wheels, all on the kardex. The car was picked up at Peter Max Mueler by fellow Long Islander, Ernest Jacob then sold to Don Nixon who was heavily involved with SCCA rallying and based in Indiana. I am looking for any info on Ernest Jacob from Great Neck, NY or anyone with first hand knowledge of Don Nixon or owners after him. I would love to nail down the history and get some period images of it.

I have a trip planned to the Watkins Glen research library but I am thinking someone may know one of these gentlemen or the car which was Signal Red. From the looks of the car today it sure looks like it was raced for many years. You can see where a Speedpilot was mounted in the glove box and the heating system outlets have been blocked off as well at the tub. Thanks very much.

Don
