356C wiper linkage
Anybody know where I can find the bushings for the wiper linkage. It looks like it is a 2 part bushing.
Thanks

You can try Don: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds ... id=1086158 or see if you can contact Paul Hatfield through Registry.

Those pieces of plastic on the ends of links were never a spare part. However, those links (356 and early 911 are the same are quite plentiful on the used market like Ebay. The bushings are usually good.

Re: 356C wiper linkage
I have not looked, but since this is not a spare, it's was probably originally a electrical insulation bushing, like the big door plug. Measure the ODA of the hole and pin, thickness of the rod pinch, do some math and look for a metric panel insulation grommets, for a wire pass through. They look like PVC.
Or make some from Nylon or Urethane. A local machine shop can do it pretty easy. Or a friend with a lathe, 40 years ago I made some shifter coupler bushings from brass and nylon. The Nylon ones still work, and I have spares left in the stash, so they will out live me.

Re: 356C wiper linkage
Thank you all. Don didn't have them, so I guess I'll try to manufacture them myself. I did look for the wire pass through bushings, but was unsuccessful.

Bringing this thread back to the top.
Does anybody know of a service to rebuild the wiper linkage (ie replace bushings, etc)

There is someone on the Samba that repairs/restores wiper mechanisms.

I contacted Don West, the guy that restores wiper assemblies, and he said that he can work on Porsche units but the parts supply has just run dry and he can't get parts any more.

Re: 356C wiper linkage
Doug has a good suggestion. It's almost like a nylon grommet. Google "nylon grommet" or "snap bushing".

Re: 356C wiper linkage
May I suggest the easy way out ........ check Ebay and used parts sellers for a complete arm. Here's one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-356-B- ... rk:30:pf:0 he has several of those T-6 arms for sale. Or, surely other used parts sellers will have them --- I don't think the plastic insert under discussion and a good used arm will end up less expensive than trying to make the plastic piece.
