Beru distributor rotor

#1 Post by Ben Wainscott »

I had a recent problem with a BERU distributor rotor (616.602.221.01). Prior to heading up to the North meets South gathering, I tuned up our 65 SC. When I installed a new BERU distributor rotor it just dropped into place with no tension on the distributor shaft. When I compared it to a Bosch I also had, it looked like the broach cut in it (where the metal clip is installed) was deeper than the Bosch. Installed the Bosch, and it was tight and snapped in place. Called Sierra Madre and told them of the issue and returned it to them so they could inspect.

I've haven't tried Beru but never had a problem with Bosch 04008 (616.602.221.01 or 02). The Beru they sent you may be a 616.602.221.05 equivalent, which would be for a larger 031 or 061 advancing shaft.

Thanks Bruce for the input. I do not have the rotor or box, so can't check. The receipt show an 01, but great to know!
